KidSafeKid Privacy Policy

KidSafeKid is a Google TV companion app for KidSafeNest. It is intended for use by parents or guardians who sign in and select a child profile to watch parent-approved YouTube videos on TV.
We are committed to protecting children’s privacy and complying with applicable child privacy laws, including COPPA and Google Play Families Policy.
1. Information we collect
KidSafeKid may access the following information from your KidSafeNest account:
Parent account
- Google account used for sign-in (via Firebase Authentication)
Child profile data (managed in KidSafeNest)
- Child first name and age group
- Optional avatar emoji
- Parent-approved YouTube video list
- Watch limits and bedtime settings
- Daily video watch usage minutes
Technical data
- Anonymous Firebase identifiers and sync timestamps
- Device and network data needed for sign-in and video playback
We do not collect on TV: location, contacts, child photos, device app lock data, or advertising identifiers for personalized ads.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate the parent Google account, load child profiles and approved videos, enforce daily watch limits configured in KidSafeNest, sync watch time with the parent account in Firebase, and improve reliability and support.
We do not sell personal data, show ads in KidSafeKid, use data for behavioral advertising, or allow open web browsing.
3. Parental control
KidSafeKid is watch-only. Parents manage profiles, approved videos, and limits in the KidSafeNest mobile app. Parents may review or delete data through KidSafeNest or by contacting support@vistalytix.com.

KidSafeKid uses Google Sign-In and Firebase, the YouTube Embedded Player API, and the YouTube Data API (video titles and thumbnails). These services may process technical data under their own policies:
5. Data security & retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data synced through Firebase. Usage data is stored per child profile and reset daily. Parents may request deletion at any time via support@vistalytix.com.
6. YouTube disclaimer
KidSafeKid uses the official YouTube Embedded Player API. Videos stream directly from YouTube. KidSafeKid does not host or upload YouTube videos. Only videos approved by a parent in KidSafeNest appear in KidSafeKid.
